Transient control of a Diesel engine airpath

Authors: Jonathan Chauvin, Gilles Corde, Nicolas Petit, 2007 American Control Conference, pp. 4394-4400, 9-13 July 2007, New York City, USA DOI: 10.1109/ACC.2007.4282942
This article focuses on the control of a diesel engine airpath during transients. The proposed control methodology uses a motion planning technique combined with an observer and two inner loop controllers. We extend and improve our previously published results by providing proof of global convergence and stability. The EU cycle serves as benchmark, and detailed experimental results (including transients in HCCI mode) are presented.
